Eat The Bear Blueberry Muffin Whey Grass-Fed Protein Powder Review

This Eat The Bear Blueberry Muffin Whey Grass-Fed Protein Powder Review will tell you everything you need to know about this product.

HANDS DOWN the BEST Protein Powder I’ve ever tasted.

This is absolutely no joke. Have y’all ever heard me say that a protein is the BEST? Nope! Because I never do. This one tastes out of this world.

Read on to find out the details!

Taste: 10/10. You might expect this to just taste like blueberries. Hell, you might even expect it to just taste like a buttery muffin… but you’d be wrong twice. This is a blueberry muffin flavor in protein powder form. Sweet, fruity, buttery. You have to try it to believe it.

Flavor Accuracy: 10/10. Like I mentioned above, it’s really like having a blueberry muffin in shake. When I use this to make pancakes, it tastes exactly as it sounds: a blueberry muffin pancake. And the macros to accompany this dessert-like breakfast will blow your mind.

Texture: 8/10. As far as mixability, it smooths out a bit after about 30 seconds, faster than others that I’ve tried. Once it’s mixed, it’s thinner than most protein powders, so I’d reccomend mixing it with milk and a littel less than usual.

Macros: 1.5g fat, 2g carbs, 20g protein.

Quality: Grass Fed Whey Protein. Non-GMO. All natural. Sweetened with stevia. Gluten Free.  No artifical colors or flavors. Free of all banned substances.

Ingredients: Grass fed whey protein concentrate. Natural Flavors. Xanthym gum. Stevia leaf extract. Purple carrot extract for color. Sea salt. Citric Acid. Natural Malic Acid.

This excerpt from Eat The Bear describes this product as:

“Eat the Bear’s Grass-fed Whey Protein is an excellent product line that consists of whey from grass-fed cows free of recombinant bovine growth hormones (rBGH), and sweetened with the ingredients naturally found in the leaves of the stevia plant. Expect a light and clean flavor with zero after-taste..”

PEScience Chocolate Peanut Butter Select Protein Powder Review

PEScience Chocolate Peanut Butter Select Protein Powder Review

This PEScience Chocolate Peanut Butter Select Protein Powder Review will tell you everything you need to know about this product.

Select Protein

If you follow me on any sort of social media, you know I’m a huge PEScience fan. No, I’m not yet sponsored by them but I can’t say no to a high-quality product. This brand was the first that I decided to review because I wanted to be sure that you all were reaching for my favorite products first and wasting no time on the chalky, bland ones out there.

Why waste money, macros and time sifting through the lackluster protein powders when you could select the best?

Taste: 9/10. No question, you guys know how much I love peanut butter. So the hype for this flavor was real. PEScience did not disappoint. It’s balanced between peanut butter and chocolate flavors. Very sweet with a cocoa undertone from the chocolate. I’m a little bias and would prefer a slightly more pronounced peanut butter flavor.

Flavor Accuracy: 8/10. I love this flavor! It’s absolutely chocolatey peanut butter, even when just mixed in with some almond milk. I wouldn’t really call it a peanut butter cup (for some reason that conjures up a creamier, butterier flavor in my mind. Call me crazy!) but it’s absolutely chocolate peanut butter.

Texture: 9/10. As far as mixability, it does require a bit of time to get all the clumps out, but that’s to be expected with any protein powder. Once it’s mixed, it’s smooth and thick. This protein is a bit thicker than a whey protein isolate – but I prefer my shakes thicker. If you prefer shakes thinner, then I suggest going for whey protein isolate over this milk protein blend.

Macros: 1g fat, 4g carbs, 23g protein.

Quality: 3g sugar. 280mg sodium. No trans or saturated fats.

Ingredients: Muscle Targeted Protein Blend (Milk Protein Isolate [comprised of casein protein and whey protein], Whey Protein Concentrate 80%, Leucine Peptides), Natural and Artificial Flavors, Sodium Chloride, Guar Gum, Sucralose, Acesulfame Potassium.

What’s the benefit of a protein blend like PEScience uses? This excerpt from Pescience.com helps explain.

“Milk Protein Isolate is composed of 80% casein and 20% whey, and recent research shows that a blend of whey and casein is superior to whey alone for muscle growth. So with Milk Protein Isolate, you get the optimal muscle-stimulating protein blend, a low fat and carbohydrate content, and intact biological peptides for muscle growth and health.”

PEScience Snickerdoodle Select Protein Powder Review

PEScience Snickerdoodle Select Protein Powder Review

This PEScience Snickerdoodle Select Protein Powder Review will tell you everything you need to know about this product.

Select Protein

Let me start by saying that I have tried countless protein powders over the last few years. If it’s got some enticing title involving chocolate or cookies or peanut butter, you can bet I’ve tried it.

This was the first flavor of protein powder from PEScience that I tried in the beginnings of my bodybuilding career. I chose it initially based on its stellar macros… and then I tasted it and was surprised at how great the flavor was.

Read on to find out the details!

Taste: 8/10. This is not far off from drinking an actual snickerdoodle cookie. It’s sweet with gingerbread flavor, cinnamon tones, and strong sweetness.

Flavor Accuracy: 8/10. Like I mentioned above, it’s really like having a cookie in the form of a protein shake. If you find it hard to get all your protein in – I highly suggest implementing this as a shake.

Texture: 7/10. As far as mixability, it does require a bit of time to get all the clumps out, but that’s to be expected with any protein powder. Once it’s mixed, it’s smooth and thick. This protein is a bit thicker than a whey protein isolate – but I prefer my shakes thicker! If you like them thin, then I suggest going for whey protein isolate over this milk protein blend.

Macros: 2g fat, 1g carbs, 24g protein.

Quality: 210mg sodium. No trans or saturated fats.

Bob's Red Mill Xanthan Gum Review

Bob’s Red Mill Xanthan Gum Review

This Bob’s Red Mill Xanthan Gum Review will tell you all you need to know about this product.

Xanthan Gum

This review differs from the traditional because Xanthan Gum is not something I recommend you eat plain – it’s simply used to thicken mixtures. I often use this product in my recipes, especially in my protein ice cream. I cannot count the number of times I get a message asking if this product is necessary within the recipe. The answer is always a resounding “YES!” because it’s such a game changer anytime I do list it in a recipe.

The next question is typical “Well, where can I buy that?” This review is simply to show you the right place to buy this product that makes protein ice cream super thick & fluffy.

And, if you’re at all interested in what this stuff really is, I’ve provided a little excerpt from Bob’s Red Mill explaining it.

Xanthan Gum is a plant-based thickening and stabilizing agent. It is named for the bacteria, Xanthomonas campestris, which plays a crucial role in this description. Technically speaking, xanthan gum is a polysaccharide, which is just a fancy way to say “a string of multiple sugars.” To create xanthan gum, the Xanthomonas campestris bacterium is allowed to ferment on a sugar. The result is a gel that is then dried and milled to create the powder substance.

Xanthan gum has a number of powerful properties. First, it works as an emulsifier, encouraging liquids that normally don’t like one another to mix together. Second, it works as thickener, increasing the viscosity of liquids and batters. Third, it can create a creamy texture.

Walden Farms Calorie Free Maple Syrup Review

Walden Farms Calorie Free Maple Syrup Review

This Walden Farms Calorie Free Maple Syrup Review will tell you all you need to know about this product.

Walden Farms Maple Syrup reviewThis company makes great products. I’ve tried nearly every flavor they have, and each one varies in how great they are… However, the maple syrup flavor is king. Oh yeah and the best part? CALORIE FREE. FREE MACROS FOR ALL.

Taste: 8/10. Tastes just like it sounds. Sweet, maple flavor that goes perfectly with pancakes. I use this all the time on prep when I need to save the macros for other carbs. If you’re not used to sugar-free flavored foods, then you may notice a bit of a difference in taste compared to traditional maple syrup. It’s not as sticky sweet as you’d be used to. But, for no calories, this is absolutely worth trying!

Flavor Accuracy: 8/10. There is a hint of an artificial flavor to this. Like I mentioned above, if you’re not used to the taste of sweeteners, then you may be pick up on that. Just keepin’ it real. As for this girl – I can’t tell the difference! I actually prefer this over regular syrup now.

Texture: 7/10. Not as runny and thin as most maple syrups but it gets the job done.

Macros: 0g fat, 0g carbs, 0g protein.

Quality: Made with triple filtered purified water, maple flavor, natural flavors, sea salt, cellulose gum, sucralose, lactic acid, sodium benzoate (to preserve freshness).

This Trader Joe’s Speculoos Crunchy Cookie Butter Review is one for the indulgent taste buds.

Trader Joe's Speculoos Crunchy Cookie Butter review

I fully recognize that this is not a peanut butter… but the world deserves to enjoy all the glory that is this spread.

Multiple occasions I have scooped gobs of this delicious creation out by the finger. I did have a whole jar stashed away so that I would never have to be without it… but someone *cough* my boyfriend *cough* decided to try some without asking… and once you try, you can’t stop.

Have you ever tried those cookies that they give you on airplanes, the ones that taste like cinnamon and gingerbread? Biscoff cookies? It’s like those… on steroids.

Taste: 10/10. This is indulgent to-the-max. Creamy, smooth, and sweet with gingerbread flavor, cinnamon tones, and dominate sweetness.

Flavor Accuracy: 9/10. Gingerbread/Biscoff Cookie Butter. It does taste like ground up cookies made into a butter. Can you imagine anything better?

Texture: 9/10. Smooth, infused with crunchy bits of cookie. Great spreadability. No mixing required.

Macros: 12g fat, 18g carbs, .5g protein.

Quality: 10g sugar. Low sodium. This butter is way less about being healthy, and way more about enjoying a decadent cookie butter.

Fluffbutter Cocoa Glazed Cinnamon Roll Peanut Butter Review

Fluffbutter Cocoa Glazed Cinnamon Roll Peanut Butter Review

Read this Fluffbutter Cocoa Glazed Cinnamon Roll Peanut Butter Review to learn all you need to know about this product.

Cocoa Glazed Cinnamon Roll Peanut Fluffbutter

Fluffbutter has quickly become one of my favorite nut butter brands. Nearly always their products deliver. Did Fluffbutter Cocoa Glazed Cinnamon Roll Peanut Butter stack up? For such a unique flavor combination I was skeptical whether or not this would A) live up to it’s flavor claim and B) taste good. Read on to find out all the details.

Taste: 8/10. Now this is a flavorful one. There is a hint of cinnamon, it’s very subtle. The dominant flavor here is the cocoa which is weaved in with the peanut butter taste. This is not overly sweet, despite it’s name. It’s savory, balanced in flavor. I have to be honest though – it is a bit chalky. If I weren’t so used to the protein additive flavor in nut butters than that may have been an issue with this particular flavor.

Flavor Accuracy: 7/10. The cocoa was the most prominent, the cinnamon was more of an undertone, and the ‘bun’ element (which I would expect to be buttery and full flavored) was underemphasized.

Texture: Fluffbutter Cocoa Glazed Cinnamon Roll Peanut Butter does not have the texture of traditional peanut butter. It is goopy and runny, which is not necessarily a bad thing – it’s great to drizzle over other foods or eat by the spoonful, but not so great to spread on breads and rice cakes. It does have a bit of a grainy or chalky texture to it, but it is not overpowering.

Macros: 15g fat, 7g carbs, 11g protein.

Quality: Peanuts, Organic Canola Oil, Organic Rice Protein, Xylitol, Pea Protein, Palm Oil (Sustainably Sourced), Cocoa Powder, Natural Flavors, Salt, Monk Fruit, Stevia. Natural and simple. Also has no sugar apart from the xylitol substitute. Dairy free. Soy free. Vegan. Gluten free.

Fluffbutter Salted Caramel Sundae Peanut Butter Review

This Fluffbutter Salted Caramel Sundae Peanut Butter review will let you in on Fluffbutter’s little secret… this is their best flavor.

Salted Caramel Sundae Peanut Fluffbutter

This company makes great flavors. I’ve tried nearly every flavor they have, and each one is delicious. However, Salted Caramel Sundae is unbelievable.

Taste: 10/10. Tastes just like it sounds, has a hint of salt and a prominent caramel flavor. I can and do eat this by the spoonful. It has a very strong salty caramel flavor. You’ve still got a peanut butter undertone. Not sure how that combo is going to work? Buy it and let me know what you think. You won’t be disappointed!

Flavor Accuracy: 8/10. The sweet and salty combo is unbeatable. I wouldn’t call it a Sundae, necessarily, but I could see it as a great topping for a sundae. It definitely has a salty element, and the caramel flavor comes through strongly.

Texture: 7/10. Gooey, goopy, and a little runny. It requires lots of mixing since it separates quite a bit.

Macros: 15g fat, 7g carbs, 11g protein.

Quality: Made with rice and pea protein. No sugar (though it is sweetened with xylitol sweetener) dairy free, soy free, gluten free, and has 2g fiber. Dairy free. Soy free. Gluten free. Vegan.

muscle butter birthday cake peanut butter review

Birthday Cake Cashew Coconut Muscle Butter Review

This Birthday Cake Cashew Coconut Muscle Butter Review tells you all you need to know about this product.

Birthday Cake Cashew Coconut Muscle Butter

If you say birthday cake, I’m there. Any sort of birthday cake themed product I am definitely going to try. To be honest, it doesn’t take much to impress me with this flavor because, let’s be real, it’s cake flavored.

I wish that I could say this one did impress me. But the truth is, this was less than mediocre.

Taste: 2/10. This was very bland, lacking any sort of cake flavor or flavor at all. There was more of a chalky taste, if one at all. Compared to other strong birthday cake flavored nut butters, this one is weak. There was little sweetness, which one would expect to be strong in a cake flavored nut butter. It was dull, at best.

Flavor Accuracy: 2/10. I’ve given this two only because there are sprinkles in birthday cake and this does have sprinkles throughout it.

Texture: 7/10. This has a bit of a grainy texture to it. It requires some mixing to get the sprinkles evenly throughout it.

Macros: 13g fat, 8g carbs, 10g protein.

Quality: Cashews, Whey Protein Isolate, Coconut, Raw Honey, Ghee (Clarified Butter), Coconut Oil, Coconut Sugar, Vanilla Bean Powder. I do appreciate how simple and natural they have kept this. Only 15mg of sodium as well, which is very low.

Price per jar: $12.99

Price per serving: per 2 TBSP $1.19

High Protein Toffee Crunch Peanut Butter

Nuts ‘n More Toffee Crunch Peanut Butter Review. This will change everything you think you know about peanut butter. It will make your world 10x better.

Taste: 10/10. Can somebody get me an IV of this stuff? My favorite thing about this flavor is that it isn’t overwhelming with sweetness. Perfect level of sweetness, balanced with the peanut butter flavor. It’s a bit saltier than normal peanut butter, but it’s balanced out by the sweetness. I’m not typically a huge fan of toffee, though this Nuts ‘n More peanut butter changed my mind about it.

Flavor Accuracy: 9/10. There is a Toffee flavor, and it does have the perfect crunch to it, but the only improvement to this PB would be a tad bit more of that Toffee essence.

Texture: 10/10. Not as thick as traditional peanut butter. Requires quite a bit of mixing to blend after separating. It is great to drizzle on ice cream, or spread on rice cakes to give them a lot more flavor. I love the gritty crunch that defines the texture. I can’t get enough of this stuff.

Macros: 10g fat, 11g carbs, 12g protein.

Quality: Just 1g sugar and 3g fiber. It’s made with whey protein, and without sugar alcohols which could potentially upset some people’s stomaches.

Price per jar: $11.99

Price per serving: $0.86
